South Shore Furniture : 54" or 60" Headboard From The Step One Collection An Objective Review of The Prepac Tall Wingback Headboard in Espresso
|
South Shore Furniture : 54" or 60" Headboard From The Step One CollectionSouth Shore's Step One collection includes a very aesthetically pleasing headboard which includes a mirror, as well as a cut-out in the shape of a crescent which matches it. These were created to suit mattresses which are either 54" or 60" wide, and suitable to be affixed to a typical bolt-on bed frame. Buyers should be aware that this particular model of headboard is not compatible with wooden, platform frames from this series. Other items from this collection, aside from platform frames for your bed, will match this headboard wonderfully. It's quick to clean the attractive laminate finish of the headboard. It is made from double particle board and composite wood paneling which has been certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), and is safe and friendly to the environment. This headboard includes a warranty that extends for five years, protecting materials and parts. The headboard also requires some assembly, but everything that you need is included in the package. If you plan on affixing your headboard onto your bed frame, you will need to purchase the necessary hardware separately - though it is not difficult to find. The full-sized (or queen sized) headboard is 3" deep, 46" high and 64" wide. You can choose from a variety of colors to suit your bedroom.
Rather than dispose of my existing bed frame, which already included a mattress and a box spring, I modernized my bed and made it more 'mature' by simply adding this attractive headboard attachment. This is a beautiful headboard which has been created to suit a queen sized bed, build with smooth, clear lines and finished in a nice mocha color. It can be assembled with the hardware included in the package. Using a screwdriver or an electric drill is helpful. I was not completely satisfied with the way the headboard shakes when I lean on my bed. As the headboard is constructed from pressboard, it is not the most stable attachment. Each time I rose up from the bed, it would shake and hit my in the back. I was afraid that it would snap off if I ever leaned against it to enjoy TV. I decided to attach additional wood to the rear of my headboard, as it was not possible to place it directly against my wall to support it. Using these to brace the headboard against the wall itself, the headboard became far more supportive. It was a simple and quick fix to the problem, making the headboard much more sturdy. The additional wood can't be seen, either. |
